Towards Peksiminas 2026, the Rector of UMI Officially Opens the Registration of Peksimida Sulsel for the Literature and Poetry Branch

Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) continue demonstrate its commitment in supporting the development of interests, talents, and student creativity in the field of cultural arts. Housed in the Senate Meeting Room 9th floor of Menara UMI, the Rector of UMI and the committee held a meeting coordination to mature the readiness for the implementation of the Regional Student Art Week (Peksimida) South Sulawesi Province Level in 2026.

This prestigious event is the place to be crucial tiered selection to capture the golden talents of students in the South Sulawesi region before stepping up to the national level, namely Pekan National Student Arts (Peksiminas) XVIII to be held at the University Jember.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Thalib, SH, M.H. Rector of UMI confirmed that the registration delegation and selection for a number of stalks of the main race has been officially opened. At the Peksimida event in 2026, UMI focused on screening several categories of competitive literary and performing arts, including:

• Contests Read Poetry (Men's and Women's Category)
• Writing Poetry
• Writing Short story
• Writing Acting

Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Thalib, S.H., M.H. Rector of UMI said that art competition is not just an event talent show, but the space for character building, literacy strengthening, and cultural appreciation for the younger generation. He invited all active students in the scope of universities to participate and take the opportunity this gold to carry the fragrant name of the district on the national stage.

In accordance with the timeline released by the committee through the Official Website of UMI, after the registration process running, the participants are scheduled to take part in the session Technical Meeting Peksimida 2026 which will be centered at Al-JibraUMI Auditorium. Through this careful preparation, UMI hopes that the selected contingent will be able to contribute a brilliant achievement for the South Sulawesi performance ecosystem.
